This Kaula Tantra Yoga practice is a slow-paced sequence of postures over the course of 90 minutes. The sequence is divided into 3 main series: standing heating series savasana series and makrasana series. Similar to yin yoga some postures are held for as long as 5 minutes. Kaula Tantra Yoga involves isometric stretching engaging in breathing techniques and relaxation. This practice is unique in its focus on relaxing the body. Kaula Tantra teaches us to honor our roots. The postures work with the lower three chakras: the root the sacral and the solar plexus. By relaxing these parts of our body we may release traumas stored in the body related to childhood family lineages stressful experiences struggles with identity and previous bodily injuries. Beginner yogis will be able to exercise all of the postures in Kaula Tantra Yoga. All of the postures can be modified as needed. However even the most advanced yogis are challenged by this practice. The instructor prompts the posture to breathe and to relax. The real practice occurs within you. The result can be rejuvenating blissful and potentially life-changing.
